What is the Jewish
Community Federation?
The Jewish Community
Federation (JCF) is a non-profit organization that fundraises
for and supports Jewish organizations, agencies, programs
and services — locally, in Israel and around the world.
Here in the Bay Area, our local community includes San
Francisco, Marin and Sonoma Counties and the Peninsula.

Us page.
What we do
Federation staff and volunteers help create a vibrant Jewish
community by working in partnership with many agencies, organizations
and individuals to strengthen our Jewish family. Our efforts
concentrate on:
How we do it
In order to accomplish our mission, our senior staff works collaboratively with professional staff, volunteers, agencies, leadership and board members. Our agencies provide critical
services funded in part by JCF. Volunteers donate their time,
energy and expertise to help raise funds and/or serve on boards
and committees to help the Federation in its work. Our professional
staff and volunteer leadership provide support and help develop
partnerships with our communal agencies and organizations
throughout our service area.
Why do so many
give through the Federation?
- Our history demonstrates that we have the experience and the established network to
identify and provide support to local and worldwide Jewish
programs and organizations.
- Your donation helps our community grow while keeping alive
its traditions and values.
- With one gift, you ensure your contribution achieves the
maximum impact — it goes to many of the vital causes featured in the press, our event photos and in our newsletters.
- The Federation provides rescue, relief and rehabilitation
programs in Jewish and non-Jewish communities locally and
around the world.
