(San Francisco, CA) — Belvedere resident Peter K. Maier, managing director of U.S. Trust, has received the Jewish Community Federation’s United Jewish Communities Endowment Achievement Award. The award gives national recognition to the leadership, vision and dedication of local community members instrumental in the growth of their Endowment programs. Maier has been actively involved with the Federation for years and has been a longtime member of the Endowment Fund’s Investment Committee. He also originated and organized such popular programs as “Money Matters 2004,” which educates community members by addressing issues such as asset allocation strategies, real estate investing, retirement and estate planning and charitable giving options.

As managing director of U.S. Trust, Maier manages portfolios of publicly-traded securities for private individuals and charitable institutions. Maier is also the chairman and co-founder of Maier Siebel Baber, a real estate investment advisory firm with offices in San Francisco and Larkspur and which in 1998 became a division of U.S. Trust Company, N.A. In addition to his work with the Jewish Community Federation, Maier is active in other charitable organizations, including the Fromm Institute for Lifelong Learning at the University of San Francisco, the John B. Huntington Foundation, and the investment committees of the Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco and the Jewish Home for the Aged.
