(San Francisco, CA) - The Jewish Community Federation has opened an emergency mailbox to accept donations to help the victims and refugees of the conflict in Darfur. One hundred percent of all donations received will be forwarded to the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), which is working with organizations on the ground in Chad and Darfur to provide medical, nutritional and educational assistance in the refugee camps in these areas.

The JDC is working on the ground with numerous non-government organizations delivering aid to the refugees and displaced people affected by this conflict. The organizations they are working with include Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres, International Medical Corps, Women's Commission for Refugee Women and Children, International Rescue Committee, Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society and Mercy Corps. One hundred percent of all dollars received by the JDC will go directly to support this relief effort.
