A unique opportunity for a special group of young leaders who want to inspire others to repair the world
The Diller Teen Fellows is an innovative program for 11th graders designed to inspire leadership among Jewish youth in our community. Focusing on social action, community involvement and Jewish learning, this year-long program includes a three-week summer seminar in Israel. Workshops and retreats
The program runs January-December; the summer seminar typically takes place in July/August. During eight Sunday workshops and three intensive weekend retreats, students will explore their Jewish identity, tzedakah, and tikkun olam. In addition, DTF participants will meet with local activists and participate in community service projects and volunteer at Jewish community events.
Summer Seminar and Mifgash
The DTF program provides unique opportunities for teens to enhance their connection to Israel, including:
- One-week spring Mifgash (cultural meeting) with visiting Israeli teen leaders, including a weekend retreat and home hospitality by DTF families.
- Three-week summer seminar focusing on an inside look into current social and political issues, meeting with local activists, and working on in-depth community service projects.
The Diller Teen Fellows is a project of the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties, funded by the Helen Diller Family Supporting Foundation of the Jewish Community Endowment Fund, and operated by the Bureau of Jewish Education.
