You make a difference, we make it easy.

Today, individual donors and families can easily partner with JCEF through various planned giving options. In order to best serve you, we prefer to personalize a customized giving plan. Together with JCEF, you join in the effort to address the most pressing needs while preparing for tomorrow’s challenges.

Giving options

Your gift of any asset — cash, stock, life insurance, real estate — to the Jewish Community Endowment Fund can be unrestricted, allowing flexibility to address unforeseen opportunities and emergencies. Or, it may be restricted to a particular field of interest or specific need. Whichever way you choose to participate, JCEF can help you find a way that best suits your circumstances and accomplishes your goals. To get started, call Phyllis Cook at 415.512.6211 or Lisa Gurwitch at 415.512.6221.

  • Bequest in a Will or Living Trust — A provision in a will or living trust that names the JCEF as a beneficiary.
  • Donor-Advised Philanthropic Fund — Donor-advised fund grants are made at the recommendation of the donor.
  • Supporting Foundation — Supporting foundations have many characteristics of a private foundation with the economic and tax advantages of a public charity. A supporting foundation is a separate non-profit tax entity that qualifies as a public charity due to its relationship to the Federation; advantages include donor identification and involvement.
  • Charitable Gift Annuity — A contract with the JCEF providing the donor or loved one with fixed payments for life in exchange for charitable gift.
  • Pooled Income Fund — In exchange for a charitable gift, donor receives payments based on the rate of return for a common fund.
  • Charitable Lead Trust — A trust that makes charitable gifts to JCEF for a period of time followed by return of assets to donor or designee.
  • Charitable Remainder Trust — A trust that provides income for life or specified time period, with the remainder transferred to JCEF upon termination of trust.
  • Imprint Funds — Funds that enable donors to match their personal charitable objective with a priority need in the community.
  • Honor & Memorial Giving — A gift that commemorates significant events in your life or the lives of those you care about.
    • Special Occasion Giving Fund — Your donation will honor your friends or loved ones and help sustain our Jewish community.
    • Specific Donor-Advised Funds — Your tribute donation to a donor-advised philanthropic fund is a very meaningful gift. It not only honors your friend’s or loved one’s special occasion, but honors their passion for tikkun olam, repairing the world.
    • Women’s Philanthropy: Women In Leadership Fund — A mentoring program providing support for training women to be future Jewish community leaders.
    • The Fund for Gay and Lesbian Causes — Supports members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities in Israel.
    • The Holocaust Memorial/Education Fund — Supports programs at the Holocaust Center of Northern California and Bay Area high schools, colleges, and universities that teach young people about racism, discrimination and indifference.
