Your gift supports mentoring programs for Jewish women who aspire
to leadership positions. WIL is a mentoring program pairing veteran
women JCF leaders with mentees who have been individually identified
as having leadership potential. This program is designed both to
build intergenerational relationships and to provide Judaic education,
JCF education and skills training for future leaders. For additional information, please contact Judy Bloom at judyb@sfjcf.org or

Your contribution educates young
people about tolerance and fighting bigotry through teacher training
and programs in public schools. This Fund supports programs at
the Holocaust Center of Northern California and Bay Area high
schools, colleges, and universities that teach young people about
racism, discrimination and indifference.
More than 400 non-Jewish educators have been trained to instruct
young people in these areas. In addition, a select group of local
public school teachers received grants to attend a conference
in Washington, D.C., to learn from exhibitions at the Holocaust
Museum and pre-eminent Holocaust educators how to teach a new generation
the lessons it is imperative the world never forgets.
Your contribution funds programs that support
the Jewish gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community in
Israel. This fund lends support to members of the gay, lesbian,
bisexual and transgender communities in Israel. A philanthropic
fund of The Jewish Community Endowment Fund, it was established
by participants of the “Journey of
Pride” in April 1999 when members of the Bay Area gay and
lesbian community participated in a Federation-sponsored trip to
Israel.
“The San Francisco community has taken a lead in connecting
to the gay and lesbian community in Israel,” says Alvin H.
Baum, Jr., chair of the Gay and Lesbian Task Force. “Journey of
Pride” alumni have supported a variety of gay, lesbian
and transgender organizations and projects in Israel, including
the Leo Baeck Education Center in Haifa, to support diversity training
programs; Open House in Jerusalem, a gay and lesbian community
center; the Israel AIDS Task Force; and the Aguda, the Association
of Gay Men, Lesbians, Bisexuals and Transgenders in Israel.

Kohn Fund will support projects focused on education and youth
with a preference for programs that address leadership development
and training, children with special educational needs and at-risk
youth, in the San Francisco-based Jewish community area and
in Israel.
The Jewish Community Endowment Maimonides Fund
Your
donation to the Maimonides Fund will help support new projects

Mount Zion Health Fund
The mission of the Mount Zion
Health Fund, a supporting foundation of the Jewish Community
Endowment Fund, is to advance programs designed to improve the
physical, emotional and spiritual health of vulnerable populations
and reflect the Jewish values and traditions of Mount Zion Hospital. For more information, please email karenst@sfjcf.org.
Your donation not only honors a friend or loved one, but honors
their passion for helping others. Your tribute donation to a donor-advised
philanthropic fund is a very meaningful gift. It not only honors
your friend’s or loved one’s special occasion, but
honors their passion for tikkun olam, repairing the
world. Your gift can celebrate a myriad of events — birth
of a child or grandchild, weddings, b’nai mitzvahs, anniversaries,
graduations, promotions, awards and honors.
For example, in honor of her friends’ anniversary, Barbara
made a $100 gift to the donor-advised fund they had established.
David sent $500 to the fund his niece established, in honor of
her bat mitzvah.
