Jewish Singles Over 40, JCC of San Francisco as fiscal agent — $40,000

Final year of seed funding for the Jewish Singles Over 40 program, a community-wide collaboration of JCCs, synagogues, and the Northern California Board of Rabbis offering programs that bring together Jewish singles ages 40 and up throughout the Federation’s service to meet one another and become more involved in the Jewish community.

Jewish Vocational Service — $150,000

To provide employment counseling, training, and placement services to 200 individuals with barriers to employment, including 85 adults with disabilities and provide access for 575 people to the JVS Technology Access Center. (Newhouse Fund)

Northern California Board of Rabbis, in collaboration with JCF — $74,600

Seed funding to support a new combined staff position serving half-time as the Federation’s “community rabbi” and rabbinic liaison to local synagogues while expanding the ability of the Board of Rabbis to more effectively carry out its mission in all parts of the Federation service area. If successful, after three years this position will be supported by fundraising among the Board of Rabbis members and the community at large, as well as additional JCF Campaign allocations.

Progressive Jewish Alliance — $100,000 over two years

Seed funding to pilot the Jeremiah Fellowship program, a two-year education and community service program for 20 young Jewish leaders in their 20s and 30s. This program is based on the successful program originally piloted in Los Angeles
