Who we are

The South Peninsula Jewish Community Teen Foundation just completed its fifth year. Our board is made up of high school students who want to gain valuable leadership skills and experience, bond with socially conscious Jewish peers, and make a difference through realization of Jewish values. Our board members will:

  • Boost their leadership skills
  • Connect with Jewish youth
  • Expand their Jewish identity
  • Debate tough choices
  • Engage in social justice issues
  • Attend a fun, inspirational and well-planned weekend retreat November 21 to 23, 2009
  • Participate in skill-building seminars and youth-led Foundation board meetings on seven Sunday afternoon meetings from December 2009 to May 2010
  • Contribute to a pooled fund being matched by donors
  • Become effective grantmakers and strategic youth philanthropists

While the Foundation program is free to board members and their families, we do ask each board member to cover the $350 cost of the three day Bay Area Youth Philanthropy Retreat at the Embassy Suites Hotel. Scholarships are available to assist families in covering this cost.
