SUE SCHWARTZMAN is the Director of Youth Philanthropy for the Jewish Community Endowment Fund and Project Director for the South Peninsula Jewish Community Teen Foundation.

Sue began her foray into youth philanthropy as a classroom teacher, more than thirteen years ago.  Sue developed the Seventh Grade Tzedakah Project now used in many Jewish day schools and religious schools. Sue then worked with Rabbi Serena Eisenberg and with the support of the Jewish Community Endowment Fund, developed the Jewish Community Teen Foundation Program, now a national model for program excellence in youth philanthropy.

Sue has spoken at many national conferences on Teen Philanthropy and education and has published an article on Jewish Teen Philanthropy in Jewish Publication Society of North America's Jewish Choices, Jewish Voices--Money.

Over the past thirteen years, Sue has watched 100’s of Bay Area Jewish teens raise and give away more than $800,000.00 dollars with the most exciting outcome being the passion she sees young people develop for tikkun olam (fixing the world).  Most recently Sue developed "Project Give" a secular school spin off of the 7th grade Tzedakah Project now a highlight of the Eastside College Preparatory School's middle school curriculum in East Palo Alto.

Sue holds a BA from the University of California at Davis, a secondary teaching credential; and an MA in Education from Stanford University.  Sue has worked as an education consultant focusing on standards of excellence in curriculum, teaching practices and the integration of Jewish values into the curriculum.
