The Swig Family Fund
for Jewish Community Involvement
In 1988, the Mae and Benjamin Swig Fund for Jewish Community Involvement
was established as part of the Jewish Community Endowment Fund of
the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, the Peninsula,
Marin and Sonoma Counties. It is a restricted fund dedicated to
seed funding programs that provide innovative models for the involvement
of individuals in the Jewish community. The expressed goal of the
founders was to establish an Academic Consortium to convene Jewish
academics at the major educational institutions in Northern California
in order to bring them into a closer relationship with the organized
Jewish community.
