Being a Jew Creatively: March 28, Berkeley
The Diller Teens
spent a recent Sunday in Berkeley exploring their Jewish identity by using
various art forms. First the teens met with Jewish artist Nancy Katz. The Diller
teens drew personal
drawings which expressed their view on how they identify as Jews.
The whole group then came together and created a silk
banner which the Diller teens will bring with them as a gift to Israel. Following
the art
workshop the Diller teens explored the theme of Jewish identity using poetry
and hip hop in a workshop led by Canadian Jewish rapper Josh Dolgin, also
known as DJ SO-Called.
