Mifgash With Israeli Teens
April 2004
A highlight of the Diller Teen Fellows program
is the Mifgash (meeting) between the Diller teens and their peers from the Manhigut Esreh (Teen
Leadership) program from Etzba Ha-Galil in Northern Israel. The Mifgash took
place over the Passover holiday and allowed the two groups to
discuss the similarities and differences between Jewish youth from the US
and Israel, as well as form long-lasting personal friendships.
The Mifgash began with a weekend-long retreat at Derech
Eretz, a Jewish camp in the
California foothills. The two groups spent Shabbat together, participated
in discussions and activities which were created and led by the teens from
both groups, and ended with performing community service projects.
