Jewish Community Endowment Fund (JCEF) donors recognize the high importance of education and leadership for the San Francisco Bay Area Jewish community. More than twenty funds and foundations at the JCEF provide funding for a variety of academic and enrichment programs – from preschool to college, teen Israel experiences and a variety of youth and family camps. The majority of financial aid funded by the JCEF is administered in partnership with the Bureau of Jewish Education.
Preschool scholarships
The Jewish Community Federation Preschool Scholarship Fund has been established to provide need-based scholarships for working and single parent families to send their children to Jewish preschool programs at accredited Jewish preschools within the Federation service area. In recognition of the high cost of living in the Bay Area, the JCF has launched this new program to make Jewish preschool more accessible to families. For more information about the fund, please contact Judy Bloom at 415.512.6263 or judyb@sfjcf.org. For information on how to apply, please call Janet Rothman, Financial Aid Director at the Bureau of Jewish Education 415.751.6983 x107, or email jrothman@bjesf.org.
Jewish day school scholarships
The Jewish Community Federation Day School Scholarship Fund has been established to provide need-based scholarships for students attending Jewish day schools throughout the Federation’s service area. The purpose of this is to bridge the financial gap between family contributions and the individual day school financial aid packages. All applications must be submitted by the Jewish day schools once they have been qualified to participate in the fund. For information on how to apply, please call Janet Rothman, Financial Aid Director at the Bureau of Jewish Education 415.751.6983 x107, or email jrothman@bjesf.org.
Scholarship and campership assistance
