School performances


Tikvah is a unique bilingual, bicultural program dance program taught in English and Russian, featuring instructors from the former Soviet Union with advanced degrees in the creative arts. The teen program of Tikvah will be performing an Israeli Dance at Israel in the Gardens. The dancers train at the JCC of San Francisco. More information at www.jccsf.org

Kehillah Jewish High SchoolSchool’s Jazz Band will be performing with musicians and vocalists. The school is located in Palo Alto and the band is under the guidance of Rabbi Micah Citrin. More information at www.kehillah.org

Klezmorama led by Phil Hoxie, a bass player and 14 year old from Temple Isiah, and other friends from the Crowden School in Berkeley , will entertain us with traditional klezmor music including Fraylachs ahd Horas. The students are middle school students who often play in the community for benefits and bar mitzvahs, and musicians recently performed at Yoshi’s in San Francisco and at the Jewish Music Festival.

ODC Dance Jam directed by choreographers KT Nelson and Kimi Okada is a pre-professional dance company of dedicated teens ages 14 – 17 performing contemporary modern dance. The teens will perform a quartet, “Mixing Ground,” choreographed by Bliss Kolhmeyer Dowman. They have performed all over the Bay Area, most recently at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and at Oxbow in Napa. More information at www.odcschool.org

Congregation Emanu-El of San Francisco’s second grade singers will delight us with their spirited Israeli songs.

Gideon Hausner School of the South Peninsula will bring a 5th grade chorus performing Israeli songs.
