Outreach
- Host social events that allow Alliance members to meet each
other and welcome newcomers to our community in a fun and relaxed environment
- Establish a Jewish presence at various area LGBT events, such as
the annual International LGBT Film Festival, as well as present an LGBT presence at Jewish
community events such as Israel in the Gardens
Programming
- Host social events for LGBT Jews and their friends; everyone is welcome
- Present LGBT and Jewish speakers, artists and performers
- Arrange special tours of the Contemporary Jewish Museum, Judah L. Magnes Museum and traveling exhibits from the US Holocaust Museum
- Organize gatherings for Jewish holidays
- Present different cultural, educational or entertainment events
- Host screenings and receptions at both the Frameline International LGBT Film Festival and the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival
- Organize trips to Israel for singles, couples and families
Volunteer
opportunities
- The Alliance and JCF connect volunteers with local Jewish agencies like the
Bay Area Jewish Healing Center, Jewish Vocational Services, the Jewish
Home, Jewish Coalition for Literacy and many more, where tikkun olam is alive and well.
Leadership training
- We provide targeted training for both volunteers and board members
that enables them to assume satisfying and important roles in the community.
- JCF offers many opportunities to volunteer on committees within the
JCF that will enable individuals to offer an LGBT perspective on the
work that we do.
