Parlor Meeting

On February 11, 2007, t he Russian Division held a parlor meeting in the elegant home of Lara and Boris Yendler, where 28 guests listened to Rabbi Peretz Wolf-Prusan discuss the current situation in Israel and, in particular, how the Federation has and is making a difference in the Galil. Spring Ring

On Wednesday, May 10, 2006 YAD collaborated with the Russian Division for Spring Ring. About 25 fabulous volunteers made phone calls to donors on behalf of Campaign 2006, raising money to support vital human services in the Bay Area and abroad. See photos

RYAD New Year's Eve Party

Young adults gathered at the Cellar on December 31, 2005 to enjoy a very special party “with Russian-Jewish flavor.”

The Jewish Soldier's Red Star Exhibit and Reception

On Tuesday, September 27, 2005 young and old gathered to commemorate the bravery of the Jewish soldiers in Russia who put their lives on the line to fight the Nazi regime. See photos from the event.

A Night at the Symphony

On June 25, 2005 over 60 Russian-Jewish Federation donors enjoyed an outstanding performance by the San Francisco Symphony and Chorus of “Of Thee I Sing.” The unique performance was part of the JCF Endowment Fund-sponsored series on “How Jewish culture shaped American music.” Many members of the cast, chorus and orchestra joined us at the post-concert dessert reception in the Symphony’s Wattis Room. Appreciation Event at Hoover Institute

On May 31, 2005 the Hoover Institution of Stanford University opened its doors to the JCF Russian Division leadership. Hosted by Professor Abe Sofaer, the evening included an exclusive viewing of the Hoover Archives filled with original documents from 20th Century Russian-Jewish leaders in literature and politics. Highlights included materials relating to the life and works of Boris Pasternak and his family, manuscripts and memorabilia of Joseph Brodsky, and archives reflecting Isaac Babel’s life and works. Silicon Valley Israel Gala: The Russian Jewish Community’s fundraiser for Israel

In October of 2004, a major Russian Division event, the Silicon Valley Israel Gala, brought together hundreds of Russian-speaking Jews to support Israel like never before. See photos from the event.

Parlor meetings

On a more intimate scale, the Division regularly organizes parlor meetings, which gather participants in private homes to interact with national cultural and political Jewish leaders. See photos

Russian Young Adults Speaker Series

Welcoming all 20-30-something year olds who came from the former Soviet Union, the Jewish Community Federation's Russian Division Speaker Series brings together Russian-Jewish young adults with prominent Jewish leaders.
