YAD offers our community the opportunity to contribute financially to the well-being of the Bay Area, and the worldwide Jewish community, through their participation in the Federation's annual Campaign.

Giving back. Giving of yourself. Making a difference. These are the basic values of Judaism. YAD can help you help others.

  • Tikkun olam — Repairing the world
  • Gemulit hasidim — Acts of loving kindness
  • Tzedakah — charitable giving

In a word: giving.

The Young Adults Division sponsors a number of special donor events at a variety of giving levels:

A Dollar a Day — $365/year

YAD holds an annual thank-you event for donors who give at least $365 to the Campaign every year — less than the price of a cup of coffee each day.

Ben-Gurion Society (BGS) — $1,000/year

Acharai Society — $2,500/year

The word "Acharai" in Hebrew means "follow me." The Acharai community is made up of young adults who lead the way to a brighter Jewish future through their level of commitment [making a minimum gift of $2,500 (individual or household) to JCF's Campaign].

National Young Leadership Cabinet — $5,000/year

The national Young Leadership Cabinet (YLC) of the United Jewish Communities (UJC) is a select group of men and women actively engaged in shaping the future of the Jewish community in North America, Israel and throughout the world. A dynamic force for change, the YLC is made up of individuals who are distinguished by their volunteer and financial contributions to Jewish communal life and their personal leadership qualities.

Members go on to become national UJC chairs, Federation leaders, political office holders and Jewish community activists. Cabinet members serve as role models, educators and leaders in their own communities and on the national level, imparting Jewish values by encouraging a knowledge of the Jewish past and a concern for the Jewish future.

Cabinet members receive training in solicitation, Jewish education, Israel advocacy, and other skills vital for serving as effective Jewish communal leaders.

The Young Adults Division also participates in the Federation's annual Campaign through missions, conferences, phone-a-thons (including Super Sunday) and face-to-face campaigning.
