In 2004, we conducted an extensive Jewish community study in order to determine the needs of our diverse community and define the most constructive ways of addressing them. 

Our findings inspired creative changes in the way we work and helped us develop specific programs, activities, and projects with measurable outcomes — our initiatives. 

Through local regional councils and commissions, we have propelled our hard work into successful planning, fundraising and grantmaking strategies. We have strengthened our ability to ensure your dollars are dedicated to the most pressing needs and that they make the greatest possible impact, here at home and abroad.

Our initiatives

We continue to heal the world (tikkun olam) and care for our Jewish family in the form of our five initiatives:

• Caring for the vulnerable
• Welcoming interfaith couples and families
• Connecting people to their Jewish heritage
• Serving Jews and Jewish communities in times of need
• Strengthening Israel

The programs we support are consistent with our initiatives and include a feedback mechanism to measure their results. This gives us the opportunity to not only respond immediately to needs, but to quantify the programs’ impact. In partnership with our Jewish agencies and organizations, we positively change people’s daily lives and increase their well-being by bringing valuable and essential resources and education directly to them, while also promoting and advancing a deep sense of Jewish identity.
