One of the important ways that the Federation community expresses its solidarity with Jews all over the world is through cooperation with organizations dedicated to caring for the needs of Jews. It is through these organizations that the Federation expresses collective responsibility and extends the depth and impact of our overseas work.

United Jewish Communities (UJC) — UJC represents and serves 189 Jewish federations and 400 independent Jewish communities across North America. It reflects the values of social justice and human rights that define the Jewish people. UJC represents and serves one of the world's largest and most effective networks of social service providers and programs. Using the talents of both professionals and volunteers, UJC is dedicated to safeguarding and enhancing Jewish life, and to meeting the needs of all people, Jews and non-Jews, wherever they live.

Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) — JAFI operates in Israel and more than 60 other countries — in virtually every corner of the world where there are Jews who may want to make aliyah to Israel. JAFI serves Jewish youth worldwide, prospective and new immigrants to Israel, and disadvantaged populations in Israel and abroad. JAFI supports the resettlement in Israel of émigrés from the former Soviet Union, Kosovo, Ethiopia and Argentina and other countries where Jews are endangered, and it responds to basic social needs.

American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) — The JDC provides rescue, relief, and rehabilitation programs in Jewish communities throughout the world. Its central purpose remains the same as the day it was founded in 1914: aid Jews in distress overseas in a nonpartisan and apolitical way. JDC’s programs touch all segments of the Jewish population: from infants to the elderly, secular to religious. To date, JDC has aided millions of Jews in more than 85 countries. JDC also provides nonsectarian programs that aid non-Jews in distress; these programs are an expression of tikkun olam, the responsibility to repair the world and alleviate suffering wherever it exists.
