The challenge to narrow the huge economic and social gaps in Israeli society between Jews and Arabs, tzabar (native-born) and immigrant, is enormous. The key to addressing these gaps and sustaining a strong and vibrant Israel lies in education. As a result, through its direct grant program, the Federation is working on all fronts to provide equal opportunity to all citizens of Israel from Bedouin children’s play centers in the Negev to an all-girls’ religious high school in Jerusalem to helping Ethiopian immigrants in Kiryat Shmona learn Hebrew and job skills. Below is a list of our strategic initiatives in Israel.
