There is no better way to understand Israel than through its vibrant arts and culture scene.
Israel is blessed with a magnitude of artists and a cultural bounty that defies its size. From writers and award-winning filmmakers, to young designers, cartoonists and sculptors, Israel is fast becoming a premier cultural destination. Add to this the religious, political, historical, ethnic and socio-economic forces that shape the country and the result is a rich and diverse array of cultural offerings and discourse galore!
Visual and performing arts, theater, fashion, food, popular music, Hebrew literature, poetry, cinema, architecture…. From the thought-provoking and profound to the light and amusing, we will have the opportunity to explore and engage in discussions, meetings and hands-on experiences with Israel’s finest artists and thinkers.
Just a few of the many activities:
- Taking a literature and poetry walk through the streets of Jerusalem with commentary by Israeli poets and authors
- Sampling the best of Israeli foods and cuisine in Mahneh Yehuda Market with a local chef and folklorist
- Engaging in conversation with a young Israeli writer in a literary café
- Strolling from Yaffo, through Neve Tzedek to Tel Aviv and taking an in-depth look at the development of the first Hebrew city through its architecture and arts
