Our Federation has made an enduring commitment to the security and
survival of Israel and its development as a just, democratic and
pluralistic Jewish state.
More than twenty years ago the Federation established a vehicle to promote these
ideals and to provide direct support of innovative programs that would
have a demonstrable impact on Israeli society and reflect the values
of our own Jewish community. Learn more
We close the gap through education
Our work in Israel aims to provide long-range solutions to close the
gap by promoting educational opportunities for children living in the Upper
Galil region (B’YACHAD), early childhood
education and welfare programs in the Arab-Israeli community (ECHAD)
and college-level education for all citizens of Israel at Tel Hai College
in the Upper Galil.
We build stronger communities
Our work in Israel focuses on building stronger communities by promoting
equal opportunities for all citizens of a richly diverse Israel.
Israel is a country challenged by severe economic and social pressures
that conflict with the very vision and foundation on which the country
was built. We provide employment training and empowerment programs for Ethiopian
adults, programs for all ages in the periphery of the Upper Galil
region and programs serving the gay & lesbian
community in Israel.
The Jewish state is struggling with its Jewish identity. Israelis are
seeking options for finding meaning in their Jewish heritage for themselves
and for their children. We aim to connect Israelis to their rich heritage
through leadership and social action-based programs (Gvanim).
In Rosh Ha’Ayin we are working with partners to develop a model
pluralistic Jewish community (Mirkam). We support
organizations in the area of Jewish pluralism pursuing tikkun
olam through their work.
